Bismarck, N.D—The University of Mary tennis team (8-4, 7-1 NSIC) finished their home schedule on a high note defeating St. Cloud State (8-10, 5-1 NSIC), who was previously undefeated in Northern Sun play, before finishing with a win against University of Sioux Falls (5-8, 2-5 NSIC).

The Marauders opened the day with a 5-4 win over the Huskies. U-Mary closed the day with a 6-3 victory over USF.

The combination of Hallie Welk and Kate O'Connell won both of their matches at No. 2 doubles improving their record to a perfect 8-0 in Northern Sun competition (11-1 overall). Welk also won both of her singles matches, including a 6-1, 6-3 win over 2013 All-NSIC performer Katie Kotschevar of SCSU.

After a slow start to the season, sophomore Sarah Janes has played well down the stretch winning her last five singles matches, in addition to picking up a pair of wins today at No. 1 doubles with partner Catherine Gibbens.

Now with eight team wins, U-Mary has eclipsed last season's total of seven, which was the most the team has reached since leaving the NAIA in 2006. Additionally, with two conference wins today (7-1 NSIC), the Marauders surpassed their record for NSIC wins, which was set at six last season.
