Bismarck, N.D.—The University of Mary tennis team (6-4) improved to 5-1 in Northern Sun play with a commanding win over Southwest Minnesota State University (3-11, 1-5 NSIC) Sunday morning. The Marauders won two of three doubles matches and all six singles matches for an 8-1 win over the Mustangs.
 
Hallie Welk and Kate O'Connell highlighted U-Mary's effort on the day, with an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles the duo improved their conference record to a perfect 6-0 (9-1 overall).
 
Meredith Holt and Anastasia Bruss, at No. 3 doubles, also won 8-1, moved to 3-0 in conference play (5-2 overall). Sarah Janes and Catherine Gibbens battled at No. 1 doubles, but fell 9-8.

U-Mary made it a clean sweep in singles play winning all six matches. Welk won 6-0, 6-1 to snap a three-match skid and Janes made quick work of her opponent winning 6-0, 6-0 for her third consecutive win.
 
Leading 6-4, 4-0, Gibbens won as her opponent retired due to injury and Holt won 6-0, 6-3. Bruss improved to 5-1 in NSIC play with a 6-2, 6-2 win and O'Connell rounded out the scoring with a 6-0, 6-1 win.

The Marauders will make their final home appearance on Saturday, March 29. U-Mary will host St. Cloud State University at 11 a.m. and University of Sioux Falls at 5 p.m.
