Bismarck, N.D.—Taking on defending Northern Sun Champions, Augustana College, the University of Mary tennis team knew they would have their hands full. No. 38 Augustana was as advertised as it defeated U-Mary 8-1 Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun action.
 
The Marauders only win of the day came at second doubles as Hallie Welk/Kate O'Connell moved to 3-0 on the season with an 8-6 win over Christine Olivo/Heather Sullivan.

At first singles Sarah Janes squared off against Katie Jesperson, who is ranked fifth in the region. Janes fell 6-2, 6-1. Welk battled against Jessa Richards, who is ranked 15th in the region, but fell 6-3, 6-4 at second singles.
 
The Marauders first doubles team of Janes/Catherine Gibbens fell 8-0 to the Vikings regionally second ranked pair of Jesperson/Richards.
 
U-Mary will be back in action on Feb. 22 as it takes on Upper Iowa University and Minnesota State University Moorhead.
