Coverage: Live stats will be available at goumary.com/coverage
SFU: The Clan won the first meeting between the teams in a 3-1 match in Bismarck. Ramsey Blahnik scord the lone goal for the Marauders on a cross from Jayden Mounsey. Simon Fraser had three goals by three separate players, two in the first half and the third goal coming in the second half. The Clan defeated Northwest Nazarene and MSU-Billings in the previous week on their last road trip of the season. Jovan Blagojevic leads the GNAC in goals scored with 14, adds two assists, and four of his goals were game winners. Alex Rowley, Ryan Dhillon, and Robert Hyams spearhead the offense for Simon Fraser as Rowley has six assists, while Dhillon and Hyams both have five. Brandon Watson will get the start in the net for the Clan as he has earned four clean sheets, made 25 saves and only allowed 12 goals en route to a 6-3-2 record. Christoffer Nogueira and Jordan Pearce will need to maintain their usual production if they want to defeat the Clan.
WWU: The Vikings won the first matchup against U-Mary in a game full of controversy. The Vikings had an apparent handball that blocked the potential go-ahead goal in the first half against the Marauders and kept the score 1-1 going into the half. Western Washington ended up winning the game with a goal coming in the 68th minute to put U-Mary away. The Vikings went 1-1 last week as they defeated MSU-Billings but dropped the match to Northwest Nazarene. Luke Olney and Tye Hastings lead the Viking attack with four goals apeice while three of Hastings' goals were game winners and two of Olney's were game winners. Olney is also the leader in assists on the team with four and he will be incredibly active on the field for Western Washington in the coming matchup. Jack West will most likely get the start in the net for the Marauders and if he can keep the Vikings offense in check, then the Marauders should come out on top.
Next Week: The Marauders will play their last game of the regular season at home against South Dakota School of Mines on Saturday, Nov. 8.
Last Week: The Marauders unleashed a flurry of goals in the 4-1 revenge match win against Saint Martin's. Christoffer Nogueira notched two goals and one assist while he earned his second honorable mention of the season from the GNAC for Offensive Player of the Week. Jordan Pearce and Logan Christensen scored the other two goals for the Marauders in the game. Then the Marauders traveled to Seattle, Wash., to take on #3 Seattle Pacific, and the match was cut short in the 82nd minute after a power outage caused the lights to go out. The Falcons won the match 1-0 as U-Mary struggled to get the offense going; they were outshot 16-4 during the contest.
