Men's Soccer on the Road Again

This Week: The Marauders (2-2-1) head back out on the road for two conference games. They'll compete against Montana State University-Billings (1-3-3) on Thursday, Oct. 2, and Northwest Nazarene University (6-1-0) on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Coverage: Live stats will be available at goumary.com/coverage

MSUB: The Yellowjackets must be flying high after recording a draw against Simon Fraser before defeating Western Washington. Their offense is led by Jess Thorge with three goals and two assists. Rhys lambert and Colin Ralston each have two goals and Sam Butterworth rounds out the attack with two assists. The Marauder defense has been consistent all year despite their record, so expect a good performance from Michael Frenzel in the net to keep the pressure on the Yellowjackets. Tom Lohmann gets the start in the net for MSU-Billings. He has given up 11 goals while making 37 saves with a .771 save percentage.  If the Maraudrs can get their standard production from Jordan Pearce, Christoffer Nogueira, and Aaron Brennan, then a victory should not be too far off.

NNU: The Crusaders are coming off victories against Western Washington and a double overtime thriller against Simon Fraser. Their offense is led by Erik Anderson with six goals and two assists on the season. Four of his goals have won the game for the Crusaders. Fredy Razo is right behind with three goals and three assists while Julio Castillo rounds out the offense with four assists. The Marauders will need an air tight defense if they want to slow down the Crusaders. Alfredo Ontiveros has started every game for Northwest Nazarene in the net and has recorded three shutouts en route to a 6-1-0 record. He has only given up seven goals while making 32 saves with a .821 save percentage.  Pearce and Nogueira will need every trick in the book if they want to break down the Crusader defense.

Next Week: The Marauders return home to host Western Washington University on Thursday, Oct. 9, and Simon Fraser University on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Last Week: U-Mary lost a 2-1 heartbreaker to #7 Seattle Pacific in double overtime with the winning goal coming at 109:11. Pearce scored the lone goal for the Marauders off a pass from Jack West coming from a corner kick by Brad Kelly. The Marauders also lost 3-1 to Saint Martin's at Reichert Field. Cole Olson had the only goal for U-Mary after he headed in a cross from Nogueira.
