Bulldogs Breeze Past Marauders

BISMARCK, N.D. – Unable to generate a consistent attack, the University of Mary women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Despite the loss the Marauders earned a split of their weekend road trip.
 
The Bulldogs opened the scoring in the 38th minute on a goal by Megan Helberg.
 
Maureen Stormont ended the Marauders chances to rally with a pair of goals in a four-minute stretch in the second half. Stormont scored her 12th goal of the season at 65:14 and followed with another four minutes later.
 
Shelby Buttron recorded six saves for the Marauders. Michelle McGeary took two of the Marauders six shots in the game. Emily Christensen and Mykala Benjamin recorded U-Mary's only two attempts on net.
 
For the game UMD held a 17-6 edge in shots and an 11-2 advantage in shots on frame. Additionally the Bulldogs took five corner kicks to two for the Marauders.
 
U-Mary drops to 4-7-3 overall and 3-6-2 in the Northern Sun. UMD is 6-8-0 and 6-5-0.
 
The Marauders remain on the road, next playing at Wayne State College on Oct. 25.
