Box Score Burnaby, BC—Facing the No. 1 team in the country, the University of Mary men's soccer team knew they would have their hands full as they headed north of the border to take on Simon Fraser University. The Clan was as advertised scoring early and often en route to a 6-0 victory of the Marauders.
U-Mary managed 11 shots and put five on frame, but was unable to capitalize. All five of the Marauders' shots on goal came from different players. SFU took 19 shots, 11 of which were on frame. Four different players scored for the Clan.
Alexander Kleefledt and Jovan Blagojevic each scored two goals for Simon Fraser.
SFU got on the board in just the sixth minute taking advantage of a cross from the right side to set-up Blagojevic. Twenty-one minutes later Kleefedt scored his first goal of the game and seven minutes after that Magnus Kristensen gave the Clan a 3-0 lead. Taking a 3-0 lead into the break, SFU scored three more goals in the second half.
U-Mary will remain on the road next weekend taking on Northwest Nazarene University on Oct. 3 and Montana State University-Billings on Oct. 5.
