Fargo, N.D.—The University of U-Mary tennis team (6-4, 5-4 NSIC) picked up a pair of wins against Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State. U-Mary defeated USF (4-7, 2-4 NSIC) in a tightly-contested 5-4 decision. The Marauders finished the night with a 6-3 win over SMSU (2-7, 1-5 NSIC).
 
Hallie Welk has now won nine straight matches at No. 2 singles. The combination of Welk and Rachael Scott have won eight straight at No. 2 doubles.
 
The Marauders will be back in action tomorrow at St. Cloud State (11-8, 5-1 NSIC) at 11 a.m.
 
Sioux Falls Match

Sarah Janes and Welk continued their dominance at the top of the Marauders' lineup each winning 6-0, 6-1.The two each won their respective doubles matches too, however, the Sioux Falls match came down to No. 3 singles. After winning the first set 6-3, Kate O'Connell dropped the second 6-1 to force a tiebreaker. O'Connell was down 4-7 in the super tie breaker, but rallied for a 10-7 win.

Southwest Minnesota State Match

Janes and Welk each won 6-0, 6-0 against Southwest. Senior Ashley Akers won her first singles match of the season with a 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 6 singles. The Marauders pairs of Janes/O'Connell and Welk/Scott gave the Marauders two of three doubles matches. Janes and O'Connell have now teamed up for six straight wins.
