Bismarck, N.D.—Playing their final home match of the season the University of Mary cruised to an 8-1 victory over Bemidji State University (0-8, 0-7 NSIC).
The Marauders (3-2, 2-2 NSIC) started the day off with a clean sweep of doubles competition. The Beavers put up a good fight at first doubles, but Sarah Janes and Kate O'Connell pulled off a 9-7 victory. Hallie Welk and Rachael Scott made quick work of their opponent at second doubles 8-2. The combination of Welk and Scott are now 4-0 on the season and 3-0 in Northern Sun play. Ashley Akers and Ashley Tuschling rounded out the doubles competition for U-Mary for their first victory of the season.

With a 3-0 lead going into singles play U-Mary continued their dominance in singles action taking five of the six match-ups. At #1 singles Janes was dominant in a 6-0, 6-0. After losing her match against defending NSIC champion Augustana to open the season, Janes as now won four straight. Welk was also made quick work of her opponent winning 6-1, 6-2. Scott's match went to a tiebreaker as she pulled off her first win of the season in singles play.

With a win at both singles and doubles today, Welk finished the weekend with a perfect 6-0 mark in the U-Mary's three matches. On the season Welk improves to 4-1 in singles play and 5-0 in doubles.
The Marauders will be on the road the remainder of the season and will be back in action next weekend as they head to Winona, Minn. The Marauders will square off with Minnesota, Crookston and Minnesota State on Saturday (3/2) and finish the weekend with host school Winona State on Sunday (3/3).
