U-Mary Men Look to Finish 2013 With a Win

Last Week the University of Mary men's soccer team defeated Northwest Nazarene University 2-1 in overtime, and tied Montana State University Billings 0-0.
 
13: Against Northwest Nazarene on Halloween, U-Mary scored its first goal of the game in the 13th minute. The Crusader's #13 assisted on their lone goal and the Marauders #13 received a yellow card.  Most importantly Aaron Mc Elwee scored 13 seconds into the overtime to win the game for U-Mary.
 
GNAC History was made in U-Mary's meeting with Saint Martin's Oct. 26. Tied 0-0 at half the game eventually ended in a 4-4 tie. This is the first time in GNAC history eight goals have been scored in a half.
 
Career Firsts: Jordan Pearce had his first career multi-goal game in a 4-4 draw against SMU on Oct. 26 scoring in the 50th and 55th minutes to give U-Mary 2-0 lead. Rory Pratt had his first two assist game against the Saints assisting on the second and fourth goals.  Freshman Aaron Brennan also had a career day notching two assists, one on the first goal and one on the third, for the first time in his brief career.
 
This week U-Mary will play its final game of the season at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology on Saturday at 7:30 central time.

The Records: South Dakota Mines is 0-15-1 overall and 0-12-1 in GNAC play. The Hardrockers lost to Northwest Nazarene last weekend and tied MSU Billings. U-Mary is 2-8-3 in GNAC play and 2-10-3 overall. The Marauders have not lost in their last three matches.
 
Earlier this season U-Mary defeated SDSMT for its first win of the season. The Marauders defeated the Hardrockers by a score of 3-0. Rory Pratt scored for U-Mary in the 10th minute and Jordan Pearce and Alex Boyes added insurance goals in the final 10 minutes.
 
Last Year U-Mary defeated SDSMT 2-0 at home. Dace Moerkerke scored his first career goal in the game.
   
SDSMT This is the first year South Dakota Mines has competed as a part of the GNAC. Competing without a conference in 2012, the Hardrockers finished with a 2-11 record. Slatted to finish in 8th place in the GNAC Coaches Poll in 2013, South Dakota Mines has not won a game all season. However, SDSMT was able to play MSU Billings to a 1-1 draw on Halloween. Forward Michael McGraw has been the Hardrockers top offensive threat taking a team leading 24 shots. A 6-3 sophomore, McGraw has started in all 16 games and scored fourtimes. SDSMT's goalkeeper, Timothy Tribbett has been kept busy all season leading the country with 7.06 saves per game. A 6-1 freshman, Tribbett has a .715 save percentage. On the season the Hardrockers opponents hold a 159 to 49 advantage in shots on goal and have outscored South Dakota Mines 45-8.
