Overtime Goal by Mc Elwee leads U-Mary Past Northwest Nazarene

Mc Elwee scored his second goal of the season just 13 second into the extra period

Box Score Bismarck, ND--Just 13 seconds into overtime junior midfielder Aaron Mc Elwee sealed the deal with a goal from 50 yards out as the University of Mary  men's soccer team defeated Northwest Nazarene 2-1 in overtime.

Jordan Pearce put U-Mary (2-10-2, 2-8-2 GNAC) on the board in the 13th minute with his fifth goal of the season to give the Marauders a 1-0 lead.

The Marauders held that lead until the 86th minute when Fredy Razo got loose for the Crusaders loan goal of the night, which would eventually send the match to overtime.

Before NNU (3-7-5, 3-7-3) could react Mc Elwee took a line drive shot from 50 yards out for the game-winner.

Mc Elwee was assisted on the goal by Rory Pratt. Having just two career assists through 30 games, Pratt has now recorded two assists in each of his last two games.

Statistically U-Mary dominated the game holding a 19-11 edge in shots and 10-2 advantage in shots on goal.

The Marauders will be back in action on Saturday as they host their final home game of the season. U-Mary will host Montana State Billings at noon at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
