Last Week: The University of Mary picked up its first win of the season last week in a 3-0 decision over South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. 
Rory Pratt scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute on a goal that was assisted by 
Dace Moerkerke and 
Jordan Pearce. Pearce scored an unassisted goal in 82nd minute and 
Alex Boyes added in insurance goal just minutes later off of an 
Adam Potter free kick.
 
This Week: U-Mary will be at home this weekend as they host #3 Simon Fraser University on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Marauders will wrap-up the weekend on Saturday at 11 a.m. against Western Washington University.
 
The Records: U-Mary is 1-8 overall and 1-6 in GNAC play. Simon Fraser is 10-1 overall and 6-1 in GNAC play. Western Washington is 5-3-3 overall and 3-1-3 in GNAC play.
 
History: In their three GNAC meetings U-Mary is 0-3 against Simon Fraser. The Marauders were defeated 3-2 in overtime by the Clan in Bismarck. In three GNAC meetings U-Mary is 1-2 against Western Washington. The Marauders defeated the Vikings 2-1 in Bismarck in 2012.
 
Earlier This Season: U-Mary fell to Simon Fraser 6-0 and Western Washington 3-1 on the road earlier this season.

Think Pink: The Marauders men's soccer team will be wearing pink socks at home for the month of October to raise awareness for breast cancer. On October 31 against Northwest Nazarene, U-Mary will be holding a breast cancer awareness game.
 
Home Sweet Home: The Marauders returned last week from a 12-day four game road trip. During that road trip U-Mary was 0-4. Since joining the GNAC last season, U-Mary is 1-11-1 in conference road games. In that same time frame the Marauders are 4-5-1 at home.  Over the past two seasons U-Mary has outscored opponents 22-17 at home.
 
Player of the Week: Leading U-Mary to its first win of the season, freshman 
Jordan Pearce was named GNAC Offensive Player of the Week. A forward from Doncaster, England, Pearce scored a goal and had an assist in a 3-0 win over South Dakota Mines. Pearce made his presence known early and late recording an assist on the first goal of the game and adding an insurance goal late. In its second season competing as a part of the GNAC, this is the third time a U-Mary player has earned weekly honors and the first time this season.
 
SFU: The Clan (19-2-1, 12-1-1 GNAC) had a historic season last year winning the GNAC and advancing all the way to the NCAA Semifinal. SFU returns eight starters from last year's team and have been slatted to win the GNAC again. Carlo Basso is Simon Fraser's top returning player being named First Team All-GNAC in 2012. Basso led the GNAC with 14 goals and was named an All-American. Midfielders' Chris Bargholz, Ryan Dhillon were both named All-GNAC Second Team, while midfielder's Jovan Blagojevic and Alex Roweley were named Honorable Mention in 2012. Defender Marco Voegeli was also named All-GNAC Honorable Mention. Despite all their returning talent, the Clan lost 2012 GNAC Player of the Year Michael Winter. So far this season SFU is 10-1 overall and 6-1 in GNAC play. Simon Fraser has won two straight including a 2-0 win of Western Washington last weekend. SFU's lone loss this season came against Seattle Pacific on the road. The Clan have outscored opponents 37-10 this season and have outshot them 193-92.
 
WWU: After a fifth place finish in the GNAC in 2012 (6-6-2), Western Washington returns six starters and 14 starters from a year ago and have been picked to finish in the same position by the GNAC coaches in 2013. Senior forward Andrew Weishaar is the Vikings top returning player being named 2nd team All-GNAC in 2012. Weishaar scored six goal and added three assists in 13 conference games last year. Sophomores Kurtis Pederson (D) and Uche Ugwoaba (M) were named All-GNAC Honorable Mention in 2012 and are back for the Vikings in 2013. Junior goalkeeper Keegan Rogers, who notched five shutouts and boasted a 1.29 goaled allowed average, was also named All-GNAC Honorable Mention last year. So far this season the Vikings are 5-3-3 overall and 3-1-3 in GNAC play. Western Washington fell to Simon Fraser 2-1 last weekend. WWU has outscored their opponents 15-11 so far this season despite their opponents having a 161-133 advantage in shots.
 
Next Week: U-Mary will be on the road next week for rematches against Seattle Pacific University and Saint Martin's University. The Marauders fell 1-0 to both teams in Bismarck earlier in the season.
