Turnovers T.O. Much to Overcome

U-Mary had a season-high 29 turnovers

Shaunna Knife now sits at 24th all-time on the U-Mary scoring list
Box Score St. Cloud, Minn. – In U-Mary's last game, a 108-37 victory of Dakota State, they recorded their fewest turnovers of the season with 10. Against St. Cloud State, however, the Marauders had a season-high 29 turnovers on their way to a 71-62 loss. St. Cloud turned the ball over just 13 times in the game.
 
Shaunna Knife was the Marauders' leading scorer with 16 points. This is the most Knife has scored since conference play began.
 
Despite going 0-9 from the field, Sam Price led the Huskies (9-1, 5-1 NSIC) in scoring with 16 on 16-18 shooting from the charity stipe.
 
Despite 14 first half turnovers, U-Mary actually held a 35-29 halftime lead. The Marauders were able to overcome their first half turnovers by shooting 56 percent from the field. Knife scored 11 of her 16 points in the first half on five of eight shooting.
 
For the game U-Mary actually outshot SCSU 48 to 30 percent from the field. The Marauders also outshot the Huskies from beyond the arc (33 to 25). From the line, however, St. Cloud held a distinct advantage in attempts and percentage. SCSU hit 28-41 (.683) free throws compared to U-Mary's 6-11 (.545).
 
Shanara Clark and Knife each had 10 rebounds for the Marauders. For Knife the 10 rebounds gave her, her sixth double double of the season. With 826 career points, Knife moved onto the top 25 all-time scoring list for the Marauders.
 
Picking up four blocked shots in the first half, McKenzie Foster finished with a career-high five blocks.
 
U-Mary (8-4, 3-3 NSIC) will be back in action tomorrow night as they head to Duluth to take on the Bulldogs.
