Men's Soccer Drops Heatbreaker to MSU-Billings

Bismarck, ND — U-Mary men's soccer (3-6-1, 2-3-0 GNAC) dropped a heartbreaker in overtime to GNAC foe Montana State University Billings.

The Marauders jumped out to an early lead when sophomore F Rory Pratt scored in the 12th minute on a pass from teammate Cam Hager. U-Mary's defense was able to hold MSU-Billings scorless in the first half. The Marauders would lead 1-0 going into the half.

In the second half the Yellowjackets answered in the 66th minute with a goal of their own by Chad Ward. The Marauders defense was able to stave off the Yellowjackets for the remainder of the half as the two
teams remained deadlocked at 1-1.

The Montana State's offense kept senior GK Michael Frenzel busy all night as he finished with a season-high 12 saves.

Heading into overtime, U-Mary was looking to win its first overtime game of the year. However, In the 95th minute MSU-Billings' Landon Horst beat the keeper high with a header that ended the game at 2-1.

U-Mary will be on the road next weekend as they take on the University of Sioux Falls on Oct. 6 at 11 AM.
