Men's Soccer Drops a Close one to Northwest Nazarene 2-1

Box Score Bismarck, N.D. – Looking to bounce back from a tough overtime loss, the University of Mary men's soccer team was back in action today as they fell 2-1  to Northwest Nazarene University. Junior forward Ryan Buccholz scored the lone goal for the Marauders on the day.
 
U-Mary (3-5-1, 2-3 GNAC) was able to stay with NNU from the beginning. The two teams were knotted up until the Crusaders' Jaime Torres scored the first goal of the game in the 21st minute. The Marauders had an answer as they scored just five minutes later. Buchholz was assisted on the goal by freshman midfielder Adam Potter on a corner.
 
Entering the second half the Marauders and Crusaders (4-2-3, 3-0-2 GNAC) were even at 1-1. Sixteen minutes into the second half Northwest Nazarene added their second goal of the game to make the score 2-1.
 
The Marauders were able to neutralize the Crusaders for the remainder of the half, but unable to muster a goal themselves as they went on to fall 2-1.
 
 U-Mary will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Montana State-Billings at 3 PM.
