Grand Forks, ND – Successful singles play carried the University of Mary women's tennis team to a 6-3 win over the University of Minnesota, Crookston. The Marauders captured four of the five one-on-one matches after opening with just one doubles win.

Brianna Thomas and Julie Amundson combined to win three matches. The two paired for the Marauders lone doubles win and each claimed their singles matches.

In number one doubles, Thomas and Amundson rolled to an 8-3 win over Alyssa Klingenberg and Katelyn Johnson. UMC would rebound to claim wins at #2 and #3 doubles.

Thomas would outlast Johnson in the top singles match of the day. The senior from Minot, ND, would need a third set to pull out a narrow 7-6, 6-7, 12-10 win.

Amundson would also go to a tiebreaker, defeating Holly Roepke 6-2, 5-7, 10-7 in #3 singles.

Megan Bosch had a little easier time at #2 singles, shutting out Cassie Jarvis 6-0, 6-0.

At #4, Rachel Phelps claimed a 6-0, 6-3 win over Alyssa Klingenberg 6-0, 6-3 while Rachel Brown won a 6-2, 6-4 match over Casey Paris in #6 singles.

The Marauders improve to 3-8 overall and 2-6 in the Northern Sun.
