Moorhead, MN – Rachel Phelps had a strong showing in a return home but the rest of the University of Mary tennis team was not nearly as comfortable in a 7-2 road loss to MSU Moorhead. The freshman from Moorhead, MN, picked up wins in singles and doubles for the Marauders.
 
Phelps teamed with Megan Bosch to claim a narrow 9-8 win over Jenna Galstad and Jamie LaCoursiere. The first year player would then claim another narrow win in her #5 singles match, going to the tiebreaker to defeat LaCoursiere 6-4, 0-6, 10-8.
 
One other match also went to the tiebreaker. Rachel Brown fell just short in a 2-6, 6-3, 10-6 loss to Kaitlyn McNary in #6 singles.
 
The Marauders continue Northern Sun competition with two matches against Minnesota State University and the University of Minnesota Crookston in Grand Forks, ND.
