Bemidji, MN – Seniors Brianna Thomas and Megan Bosch combined to win the top two singles matches but the University of Mary women's tennis team couldn't cobble together enough other wins in a 5-4 loss at Bemidji State University. The Marauders won half the singles matches but only one in doubles against the Beavers in Northern Sun competition.
 
Thomas dispatched Britney Greenwaldt of Bemidji State in straight sets, 6-1 and 7-5, to win the number 1 singles match. Bosch would follow in similar fashion, defeating Kelli Christiansen 6-3, 7-6 (7-2) in #2 singles.
 
Rachel Brown would claim the only other singles win for U-Mary. The junior from Minot, ND, defeated Briana Rueter 6-1, 6-4 in #6 singles.
 
Brown had an impressive day for the Marauders as the only U-Mary performer to win twice on the day. She teamed with Ashley Tuschling to claim the #3 doubles match as the pair shut out Emily Rollins and Rueter 8-0.
 
The Marauders slip to 2-10 overall and 15 in the NSIC while the Beavers improve to 2-9 and 2-2.
 
U-Mary will return to the court at MSU Moorhead on March 23.
