Bismarck, ND – Brianna Thomas and Julia Amundson teamed up for a doubles win and then followed with singles victories to lead the University of Mary to a 6-3 home win over the University of Sioux Falls in women's tennis.
 
Thomas and Amundson claimed an 8-2 win in doubles to start the day. Both players then needed a tiebreaker to win their singles matches. In #1 singles, Thomas outlasted Rachel Hussey 6-7 (7-4), 6-1 and 10-5. Amundson then captured #2 singles with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 win over Karlee Sieve.
 
Rachel Brown and Amanda Hennessy also managed to combine for three Marauders wins. The pair first teamed up for an 8-4 win in the #3 doubles match. Both then won their singles matches in straight sets, Brown by a 6-4, 6-4 mark over Caitlyn Vance and Hennessy with a 6-1, 6-1 score over Dannika Nash.
 
The Marauders improve to 2-5 overall while the Cougars slip to 1-5.
 
U-Mary next travels to Arizona to face Grand Canyon University on March 1.
