Offensive Onslaught Propels Marauders to 108-37 Win Over Trojans

Box Score Bismarck, ND – Taylor Luke led a superlative offensive performance by the University of Mary and Kaitlyn Haag and Brittney Dietz both reached career scoring highs as the Marauders pounded Dakota (SD) State University 108-37 in a non-conference home game.

A senior guard from Amery, WI, Luke went 6-for-6 on three point attempts and tied her career high with 18 points. Her effort sets a school mark for three-point shooting percentage in a game (minimum six attempts). McKenzie Foster was 6-for-7 against Wayne State College on December 12, 2010. Luke also added two assists and two rebounds.

The Marauders shot 63.6 per cent from the floor, including a 14-of-19 (73.7 per cent) effort on three point attempts. Both marks are season-highs for U-Mary.

The 108 points is the Marauders best mark since posting 111 at the University of Minnesota Crookston on January 9, 2011. The 37 points allowed and the 71-point margin of victory is U-Mary's top effort since defeating Johnson & Wales 104-24 on November 19, 2011.

Behind exceptional shooting in the opening half and double-digit runs of 12, 11 and 14 points, the Marauders led 61-14 at intermission. Using their whole bench, ten different players scored and U-Mary connected on 71.9 per cent of its shots.

The performances by Haag and Dietz allowed U-Mary to dominate the paint, where the Marauders outscored DSU 50-18.

Haag led all players with 22 points. The junior forward was 9-for-11 from the floor and made 4-of-5 free throw attempts. She also posted four blocks and hauled down five rebounds.

Dietz added 21 points. The freshman forward made nine out of 13 shots, including a 2-of-3 effort behind the arc.

Ali Collins added ten points, seven rebounds and four assists. Shanara Clark chipped in eight points and seven rebounds. Kelsey Peltier nailed two treys and scored eight points while Lindsey Sand posted six assists and grabbed five rebounds.

The Trojans, who consider this an exhibition game, were led in scoring by Courtney Hulstein's eight points.
