Last week: U-Mary notched their first conference win of the season with a victory over Northern State, but lost a disappointing game at the buzzer to MSU Moorhead.

Led by a barrage of three-pointers, the University of Mary rolled past Northern State University 78-66. Ali Collins led the Marauders with a game-high 24 points and a career-high 11 assists. Leading by as much as 20 in the game, U-Mary held on for a 78-66 victory. The Marauders made a season-high 13 three pointers on just 23 attempts. Lindsey Sand, Brittney Dietz and Kaitlynn Haag each finished in double figures for U-Mary.

With the score knotted up at 60, MSU Moorhead hit a game winning three-pointer as time expired. Collins had another outstanding performance for the Marauders finishing just one assist shy of a triple double. Collins scored 15 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and delivered 9 assists. Shaunna Knife finished the night with 15 points and a season-high 12 rebounds. Up by 11 at half, the Marauders shot just 25 percent in the second half allowing the Dragons back into the game. Haag was the only other U-Mary player in double figures with 11.

This weekend U-Mary looks to rebound from their heartbreaking loss to MSU Moorhead as they head to Minnesota to take on Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston.

HISTORY: U-Mary is 10-2 all-time against Bemidji State. The Marauders won 81-77 on the road last season and 77-59 at home. U-Mary is 11-1 against Crookston since joining the Northern Sun in 2006-07. The Marauders won 59-46 at home and 72-51 on the road.

HOMECOMING: Jamie Zelinsky will be making her first trip to Lysaker Gymnasium as a member of the U-Mary coaching staff. A graduate assistant for the Marauders, Zelinsky is Crookston's all-time leading scorer with 1,724 career points. Zelinsky scored 21 points in the Golden Eagles only victory over the Marauders on February 4, 2011.

COLLINS-HAAG CONNECTION: Eight of Kaitlynn Haag's ten field goals last weekend came off of assists from Ali Collins. Two of Haag's three assists on the weekend set up Collins. All five of Haag's field goals against Moorhead were assisted by Collins.

HORSESHOES AND HAND GRENADES: The Marauders have lost both of their conference games this season by a single point. Each of those games came down to the final possession. Against Minot State, the Beavers scored with under 30 seconds and the Marauders where unable to respond. Against Moorhead, U-Mary failed to take a lead on their final possession and the Dragons answered with a three-pointer at the buzzer.

REBOUNDING: The Marauders have out rebounded their opponents in five of their eight games. U-Mary is 5-0 when they win the rebounding battle. However, the Marauders are 0-3 when their opponents edge them on the boards.

DOUBLE-DIPPING: After finishing last season with just one double-double, Shaunna Knife has already surpassed that mark by recording a double-double in five of the Marauders first eight games. Knife's five double doubles now brings her career total to eleven. Knife's five double-doubles is good for 7th in the NCAA. Since joining the NCAA, Anna Skala holds the U-Mary single-season mark with 10 double doubles in the 2008-09 season.

LOCAL TALENT: Six of U-Mary's 12 players this season hail from North Dakota. Those six players include the Marauders top two scorers in Shaunna Knife (Bottineau) and Ali Collins (Mandan). Also among those six are U-Mary's top three reserve players in Britney Dietz (Beach) Kelsey Peltier (Bottineau) and Lindsay Sand (Steele). Redshirt freshman Nicole Carew (Fargo) rounds out the group.

BOMBS AWAY: With 8.0 three-point field goals per game the Marauders average the 17th most in the country. U-Mary has attempted 23 or more in all but one of their games. The Marauders are 5-0 when they make more three-point field goals than their opponent. U-Mary has shot 38 percent from deep as oppose to just 25 in loses.

ON DECK: Following this weekends games the Marauders will be off until December 30. U-Mary will host Dakota State University in a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
