Box Score Nampa, Idaho – The University of Mary was hoping to close out their trip west with a victory over Northwest Nazarene University (8-4-5, 7-2-5 GNAC). Despite playing evenly their first meeting, NNU controlled the second half on their way to a 3-0 victory.
Unable to score a goal, the Marauders were only able to muster three shots on goal. Conversely, the Crusaders kept
Nenad Skenderovic, who made his first career start in net, busy all night with nine shots on goal.
Allowing just one shot on goal in the first period, U-Mary was able to hold Nazarene to scoreless going into intermission. Tied at half, it looked as though the game was going to be tight to the end. In the 62nd minute Perdero Emerson scored for the Crusaders to give them a 1-0 lead. NNU added their second goal in the 77th minute on a ball that was crossed from the right to the front of the net. With the Marauders unable to answer, the Crusaders added an insurance goal in the 88th minute a cruised to a 3-0 win.
On Sunday Nov. 4, U-Mary will host the University of Sioux Falls. This will be the last game of the season for the Marauders. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Sioux Falls earlier this season.
