Men's Soccer Loses to #4 Simon Fraser

Box Score Burnaby, British Columbia — After a close first half, the Marauders men's soccer team fell 5-0 to #4 ranked Simon Fraser University.

Simon Fraser took the lead in the ninth minute with a goal from Michael Winter. The Marauders were able to contain the Clan defense the rest of the half as they only allowed one other shot on goal.

Facing the highest scoring team in the country, U-Mary knew they would have to get their offense going if they wanted to win the game. Unfortunately for the Marauders, the offense sputtered as they were not able to get a shot on frame in the second half.

The Clan showed why they are the highest scoring team in the nation as they scored two more goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Simon Fraser would tack on two more goals late in the second period on their way to a 5-0 win.

Simon Fraser outshot U-Mary 24-5 on the night and held a 10-0 edge in shots on goal.

U-Mary will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Western Washington. Earlier in the season, the Marauders defeated
the Vikings 2-1 in their first ever GNAC home game.
