The University of Mary Marauders

Lexi Zeis finished second at the Northern Sun Conference Championships with a time of 19.54.68 as the University of Mary won its first NSIC women’s cross country title.
 
It may come to a surprise that Zeis didn’t cross the finish line first and that her seven-race winning streak was snapped but she did pace the Marauders to the championship.
 
And five out of the first 13 runners were Marauder student-athletes. Head coach Dennis Newell won NSIC Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.
 
Zeis and the Marauders will race next at the NCAA Central Region Championships on Nov. 5 in Sioux Falls, S.D. with a trip to the NCAA Championships on the line.
