Danny Kittner wins this week's North Dakota Petroleum Foundation Male Athlete of the Week Award. Picking up where he left off from his historic 2021 All-American season, Kittner is off to another impressive start receiving many passes from Logan Nelson and leaving many defenders with their work cut out for them. Saturday was another big day for Kittner as he reeled in nine catches for 152 yards, both season highs so far for the senior from Gilbert, AZ. Kittner also covered even more ground with 69 yards on three kick returns, had one punt return for 19 yards, and one carry for 4 yards. Though this marked the first time this season he was held without a score, Kittner was still a problem for the SMSU defense as he accumulated an astonishing 244 all-purpose yards. Kittner led the nation last season in all purpose yards, catches and receiving yards. Kittner entered Saturday coming off two more head-turning performances in week one when he had 8 catches for 114 yards and a receiving touchdown, plus one pass for 29 yards against Wayne State, and in week two when he had 7 catches for 78 yards and a receiving touchdown against Winona State.Â
