The University of Mary Marauders

Eli Olsen earns this weeks Female Athlete of the Week sponsored by the North Dakota Petroleum Council. Olsen had a stellar performance in UMary Women's Soccer's home opening 2-1 win over #14 nationally ranked Emporia State on September 2nd. Late in the first half, Olsen retrieved a loose ball after the Emporia defenders cleared the threat of a corner kick and launched a beauty from 46 yards out that sailed over the reaching goalie and into the top shelf of the net for a goal. Apart from her score, Olsen set another example of stout defense that has paced the Marauders to an impressive 3-0 start and earned her NSIC Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honors. This is the second straight week a Marauder earned the award after Mary Meeks' performance in Billings, MT. Olsen is a junior defender from Buffalo, WY.
