Olson, a 6-6 forward, was a key contributor last season to a Champlin Park High School team that went 22-5 and advanced to the Minnesota Section 5AAAA championship game. Olson emerged as one of the top players in the state of Minnesota's 2020 class this summer playing for summer program Minnesota Comets. The Marauders are no stranger to this program as current UMary playersÂ

Cooper averaged 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game for Champlin Park HS who finished 18-10 on the year. He was selected as All-Conference in the Northwest Suburban.Â
Olson is ranked 6th overall in the state of Minnesota at the power forward position and 27th overall by www.prephoops.com. The son of Jeff and Heidi Olson, Cooper was invited to attend the NCAA inaugural regional recruiting camps held in Chicago, IL, which is a camp was for the top prospects in each state.
