High School
Johnson came to UMary after he reached 1,250 points, which ranks 8th all-time in Fergus history. The Fergus Falls native was a four-year letter winner, senior captain and a two-time All Central Lakes conference player. He is also participating in the Minnesota All-Star Game and was a Minnesota Mr. Basketball and Gatorade Player of year finalist.

Matthew is the son to Todd and Dacia Johnson and has one sister, Rachel. Matthew is majoring in Business Administration.
