PRIOR TO UMARY
Graduated with honors from Dawson County High School in Glendive, Montana. Four all-state selections in track. Eleven all-conference selections in track. One time all-conference in cross country. Stomm consistently had career bests at the conference and state meets as he describes himself as a competitor, through and through.
 
Stomm started running in the sixth grade and up until his sophomore year he was predominantly a sprinter. About halfway through his sophomore year he ran the 800m for the first time where he finished with a time of 2:09.98 at the Dickinson Invitational. “I have never felt more pain than I did after that race, but I loved it.” Stomm with his newfound love of the half-mile continued to run the 800, won divisionals as a sophomore, and took 6^th at state championships as the only non-senior to place at state that year in the 800m followed by a 4^th place finish in the 1600m. Stomm will continue to focus on the 800m here at Mary
