BEMIDJI, MN – University of Mary women's golf had a strong start to the season at the Tracy Lane Memorial Golf Tournament, placing 3
rd out of 9 teams. Sophomore
Annie Neva and senior
Carrie Carmichael both placed within the top-5 to lead the Marauders in Bemidji, MN.
Neva's day came down to the wire, as she hit a par on her final hole to finish in a tie for 1
st place with Concordia-St. Paul's Addi Wood. Tiebreaker rules were determined by second day score, and Wood edged out Neva by just one stroke, making Neva the official runner-up.
The sophomore played to a 161 (+17) across the two-day tournament. Close behind her was
Carrie Carmichael, who finished in a tie for third at 164 (+20). The same tiebreaker rules sent Carmichael to an official 4
th-place finish.
A pair of freshmen rounded out the team scoring in their collegiate debuts.
Sydney Miller finished just outside the top 10, placing 11
th with a 169 (+25).
Demi Bolin followed in 20
th, finishing with a 177 (+32). She improved by 9 strokes from day 1 to day 2.

The Maverick/Golden Bear Fall Brawl is up next for the Marauders at Troy Burne Golf Course in Hudson, WI. The tournament will be held on Sept. 15 and 16.
