BURNSVILLE, MN – For the first time in program history,
Isaac Pegors was announced as the 2025 Northern Sun Player of the Year for the University of Mary baseball team.
Pegors is the third NSIC specialty award winner in program history. He joins Cal James (2021) and
Carter Beck (2024), who both won Freshman of the Year.
In addition to being named Player of the Year, the Bismarck, ND, native was announced as a member of the All-NSIC First-Team. Joining Pegors in postseason accolades is
Bryce Leafgren, who earned NSIC Second-Team All-Conference honors.
Pegors leads the conference in home runs (18), OPS (1.322) and slugging percentage (.822). The right fielder had the highest batting average (.401), on-base percentage (.500), RBIs (64) and hits (61) on the Marauders.
The sophomore ranks 18
th in the nation in home runs, 14
th in slugging percentage and 28
th in RBIs. Pegors improved dramatically from his redshirt freshman season last season, where he hit one home run and had a .103 batting average.
Leafgren had a breakout campaign during his junior season. He hit .342 while smashing 10 home runs. The Eaton, CO, native posted a .624 slugging percentage and a .482 on-base percentage to give him an OPS of 1.106.

th in on-base percentage, 9
th in slugging percentage and 10
th in home runs. Leafgren and Pegors split time between DH and right field as the duo combined for 28 home runs, 112 hits and 95 RBIs.
The Marauders take on Minnesota State University, Mankato in the NSIC Baseball Tournament on Wednesday, May 7, at noon.
