SMITHVILLE, MO – The University of Mary women's golf team closed out the year with a 10
th place finish at the NSIC Championship. In her first year with the Marauders, freshman
Annie Neva led the way individually in 16
th place.
Neva moved up eight spots on the final day, nearly matching her terrific second round score. She totaled a 78 (+6) on Sunday, one stroke shy of her Saturday mark. After 54 holes of play, Neva had a 241 (+25) to place 16
th.
To put the freshman's comeback into perspective after her difficult Friday, Neva had the worst first round score of any golfer in the top 32 and yet finished 16
th.
Carrie Carmichael shot an 83 (+11) on the final day to bring her total to 248 (+32) to place 32
nd.
Grace Stroh finished in 41
st with a score of 256 (+40).
Abby Thelen rounded out the team scoring with a 267 (+51) in 49
th.
