SMITHVILLE, MO – The University of Mary women's golf team had a better score on the second day of the NSIC Championship and held steady in 10
th place on the team leaderboard. The Marauders cut 9 strokes off their round total on day 2.
Individually,
Annie Neva moved up 14 spots to 24th thanks to a 9-stroke improvement. Neva shot an impressive 77 (+5) on the day to bring her tournament total to 163 (+19). The freshman had consecutive birdies on holes 9 and 10 to highlight her big day. Neva had the 6
th best score on Saturday, and the 2
nd largest leaderboard jump.
Carrie Carmichael struggled on Saturday, falling from 16
th to 30
th after shooting an 85 (+13). Her total score is now 165 (+21).
Grace Stroh had a 3-stroke improvement on Saturday with an 82 (+10). She held steady in 35
th with a total score of 167 (+23).
Abby Thelen rounded out the scoring with an 86 (+14), bringing her total to 174 (+30). Thelen is currently in 45
th.
