UMary improves on day 2 of NSIC Championship, Neva surges to top 25

SMITHVILLE, MO – The University of Mary women's golf team had a better score on the second day of the NSIC Championship and held steady in 10th place on the team leaderboard. The Marauders cut 9 strokes off their round total on day 2.

Individually, Annie Neva moved up 14 spots to 24th thanks to a 9-stroke improvement. Neva shot an impressive 77 (+5) on the day to bring her tournament total to 163 (+19). The freshman had consecutive birdies on holes 9 and 10 to highlight her big day. Neva had the 6th best score on Saturday, and the 2nd largest leaderboard jump.

Carrie Carmichael struggled on Saturday, falling from 16th to 30th after shooting an 85 (+13). Her total score is now 165 (+21).

Grace Stroh had a 3-stroke improvement on Saturday with an 82 (+10). She held steady in 35th with a total score of 167 (+23).

Abby Thelen rounded out the scoring with an 86 (+14), bringing her total to 174 (+30). Thelen is currently in 45th.
