Sinclair, #10 Marauders chop down Lumberjacks 9-2

MANDAN, ND – A pair of first period goals by Palmer Sinclair led a dominant effort by the 10th ranked University of Mary men's hockey team as the Marauders overwhelmed visiting Dakota College at Bottineau 9-2. Dain Sardelli and Will Falconer also scored a pair of goals for UMary as the Marauders outshot the Lumberjacks 78-17.
 
UMary improves to 15-7-0-0-0-1 (W-L-OTL-T-SOW-SOL) overall. Dakota College (ACHA MD2) is 4-11-0-0-0-0.
 
Playing at home for the first time in over a month, the Marauders didn't waste time in taking a lead as Falconer opened the scoring with a power play goal just 3:02 into the game. Sinclair followed with goals at 8:48 and 11:55 to send the Marauders into intermission leading 3-0 behind a 31-7 edge in shots.
 
UMary kept the offense flowing in the second period, this time firing 29 shots on net. Sardelli scored at 6:24 with Falconer getting his second goal just 3:01 later. Sardelli became the third UMary player with two goals in the game by scoring shorthanded at 14:16. Less than two minutes later Joe Gronholz jumped onto the score sheet for a 6-0 UMary lead entering the final period.
 
After the Lumberjacks found the net twice in the first nine minutes of the third period, the Marauders scored two of their own. Lucas Medeiros delivered a power play goal at 12:09 and Logan Lukasezck struck for the final goal of the night with 22 seconds left in the game. It was the first goal of the season for both Lukasezck and Medeiros.
 
Amraj Gill led UMary in points with four in the game, all on assists. Sinclair, Falconer and Sardelli all had two goals and an assist. Lyndon Orr, Derek Dropik and Alex Senf posted two assists each.
 
Caleb Cross finished the game with 15 saves for UMary. Josh Mack turned aside 69 shots for the Lumberjacks.
 
The Marauders wrap up their weekend series against the Lumberjacks at 2 pm on Saturday, December 13, at the Starion Sports Complex Schwan Cadillac Rink in Mandan, ND, in UMary's final game of 2025.
