MANDAN, ND – A record day by
Alex Senf headlined a 13-3 win for the #10 University of Mary men's hockey team over visiting Dakota College of Bottineau to complete a weekend sweep. Senf scored four goals to tie the program record in the final game of the 2025 calendar year for the Marauders.
Senf scored twice in the first period and two more times in the third to equal the Marauders record. Tanner Eskro, the only other UMary to score four goals in one game, found the back of the net four times in an 8-1 UMary win over Lindenwood University on October 22, 2022.
UMary improves to 16-7-0-0-0-1 (W-L-OTL-T-SOW-SOL) overall. Dakota College (ACHA MD2) is 4-12-0-0-0-0.
Following up on a 9-2 win over the Lumberjacks on Friday, the Marauders kept the offense rolling with five goals in the first period. Senf needed just 58 seconds to find the net and jump start the Marauders offensive onslaught.
Amraj Gill, who dished four assists on Friday, tallied on a power play at 7:32 of the first period. Just 24 seconds later
Isaac Flatley found the net. Senf's second goal and a shorthanded tally by
David Loahr sent the Marauders into the first intermission with a 5-0 lead.
Hunter Mangan and
Nick Bradshaw scored in the second period for the Marauders to give UMary seven straight goals before the Lumberjacks took advantage of a power play opportunity for their first goal of the day. UMary didn't let the Dakota College goal go without a response as
Crae Dawson scored with one second remaining in the second period.
Senf scored the first two goal of the third period. He posted his record-tying fourth goal at the 2:53 mark, just 23 seconds after he completed the hat trick.
Dain Sardelli scored for the second straight day for an 11-1 UMary lead before Dakota College rang up two straight goals. Loahr and Flatley then recorded their second goals of the game to round out the scoring.
Zane Clausen earned the win in net, making 17 saves. A trio of DSC netminders made 44 saves as UMary held a 57-20 edge in shots.
Senf posted five points in the game on four goals and an assist. Loahr had two goals and two assists, Flatley scored twice and delivered an assist, Sardelli had a goal and three assists, Mangan and Gill posted a goal and two assists,
Lucas Medeiros delivered three assists.
Joe Gronholz and
Derek Dropik picked up two assists with Bradshaw and Dawson pairing a goal with an assist.
The Marauders return to action the first weekend of the New Year when UMary hosts North Carolina State University January 3-4.
