St. Aubin shines as Marauders sit in sixth place after day one of the NSIC Championships

SMITHVILLE, MO – An impressive performance by Emily St. Aubin puts the University of Mary women's golf team in sixth place after day one of the 2024 NSIC Championships. Last season, UMary finished in seventh place in the 2023 NSIC championships.

St. Aubin shot a 78 on day one to put her in a tie for 11th. Carrie Carmichael posted two birdies to finish with a score of 81, placing her in a tie for 19th.

Grace Stroh and Abby Thelen both finished in a tie for 36th as after shooting an 87 on the opening day of the tournament. Finishing off the Marauders lineup was Anna Graveline, who shot an 89 to put her in a tie for 44th place.

"It was a solid showing for us today. Anytime we shoot close to 330, it puts us in a good spot to move the next day," said head coach Marion Hernandez.

Augustana University leads the competition after day one with a team score of 333. Following the Vikings are Minnesota State University, Mankato (305), Winona State University (308), Concordia University, St. Paul (330), Wayne State College (331), UMary (333), University of Sioux Falls (339), Minot State University (341), Southwest Minnesota State University (343), University of Minnesota Crookston (347), Minnesota State University Moorhead (369) and Bemidji State University (369).
