MANDAN, ND – Head coach
Vida Saliendra picked up her 100
th win of her career as the University of Mary tennis team shut down Bemidji State University 7-0 on senior night.
UMary honored
Emily Needham for her achievements as a Marauder. Needham responded by dominating #5 singles, defeating Laura Burger 6-0, 6-0.
The contest opened with UMary (7-6, 6-2 Northern Sun) winning all three doubles matches over BSU (1-10, 0-9 NSIC), earning one team.
Chloe Chong and
Ilona Freitag were outstanding in #1 doubles, defeating Valesca Rodriguez and Kate Taylor 6-0. The team of
Hala Hossam Awad and
Maria Estinvil won 6-1 in #2 doubles over Ana Lucia Ibanez and Emilia Sand.
Emily Needham and
Luba Moyo took down #3 doubles, winning 6-3 over Sophie Groen and Isabela Nelson.
Chloe Chong won #1 singles as she took down Kate Taylor 6-1, 6-3.
Hala Hossam Awad defeated Valesca Rodriguez 6-1, 6-1 in #2 singles.
Ilona Freitag put on a show in #3 singles, winning 6-1, 6-1 against Emilia Sand.
Maria Estinvil won 6-1, 6-2 over Ana Lucia Ibanez in #4 singles
Luba Moyo closed the show in #6 singles, defeating Isabela Nelson 6-1, 6-1.
