Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, FL –
Mckenzie Reinhardt excelled for the University of Mary softball team as UMary recorded an 8-3 victory over Montana State – Billings. The Marauders were shut out in their second game, losing 6-0 to West Virginia Wesleyan College.
GAME 1 RECAP
MSU Billings jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. UMary responded by scoring three runs in the top of the second inning. A pair of walks with the bases loaded by
Emily Schommer and
Emma Kimberling gave the Marauders a 2-1 lead.
Jenel Mallari hit a sacrifice fly to center to bring home Reinhardt.
The top of the third inning saw UMary tack on three more runs to take a 6-1 lead.
Sariah Perez doubled down the left field line to score
Ariana Retuta. Reinhardt kept things moving by singling to left-center field, scoring Perez. Reinhardt came around to score after Kimberling singled to right.
The Yellowjackets made it a 6-3 ball game by adding one run in the third and fourth innings.
Katelyn Falk made it 7-3 in the top of the sixth when she picked up her first career hit to center field to score
Jaraya Diaz. UMary scored their final run in the seventh inning after Reinhardt came home to score after MSU-Billings turned a double play.
Arria Johnson picked up her third win of the season after pitching 4 and 2/3 innings of relief. Johnson allowed only one run while striking out two batters.

BOX SCORE
UMary failed to record any hits against WVWC, only recording four walks. The Bobcats scored two runs in the third inning, one run in the fourth and three runs in the fifth inning to give them a 6-0 win.
Hannah Chambers went 4 and 1/3 innings and allowed only two earned runs while striking out two batters.
Whitney Carnes posted 2 and 2/3 innings of relief and allowed one run while punching out two hitters.
UMary stays in Winter Haven, FL, to take on Thomas More University at 12:30 pm on Monday, March 3. The Marauders then challenge Notre Dame College (Ohio) at 3 pm.
