SITE, DATE CHANGE FOR MARAUDERS-GOLDEN BEARS SERIES
The University of Mary baseball 4-game Northern Sun series against Concordia-St. Paul is moving closer to home and earlier in the week. The Marauders and Golden Bears will play a single game Thursday, March 14, at 3 pm, two games Friday, March 15, starting at 1:30 pm, and a single game Saturday, March 16, at 12 noon.
 
The series will be played in Brandon, SD, at First National Bank Field at Aspen Park (917 Aspen Park Dr., Brandon, SD, 57005).     
 
The NSIC neutral site series was originally slated for play starting Friday in Missouri.

THE RECORDS
The Marauders are 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the Northern Sun… The Golden Bears are 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC. CSP is receiving votes in the NCBWA Central Region.

BECK BITES
Freshman Carter Beck is off to an incredible start to his collegiate career. The outfielder from Carnduf, Saskatchewan, is hitting .467/.564/.956 with a 1.520 OPS. In 11 games he has scored 15 runs, has three doubles, two triples and five home runs with 22 RBIs. Beck ranks highly in several categories in NCAA Division II:

• 8^th in slugging percentage (.956)
• 11^th in home runs/game (.45)

• Playing a combination of positions this season, Michael Polson is hitting .400/.456/.760 for a 1.216 OPS. He has five doubles, two triples and three home runs with 13 runs scored and 12 RBIs.
• A triple machine with a team-leading four on the season, So. 2B Kalem Haney is hitting .393/.507./.643 with a 1.150 OPS. He has a team-leading 16 runs scored owns 12 RBIs, and has three doubles and a home run.
• An All-NSIC DH last year as the Marauders home run leader, Noah Hull is playing 1B and is hitting .315/.406/.574 with a .980 OPS. Hull has four home runs, scored 12 times and has drive in 13.
• Newcomer Dylan Edmands, Sr. 3B who transferred from Liberty University, is hitting .295/.404/.523 (.927 OPS) with 14 runs scored, three home runs and seven RBIs.
• Daniel Martin is tied for the team lead with five home runs. The Sr. OF owns a slash line of .273/.355/.582 (.937). He has scored 11 times and driven in 14.

 
THE HILL

• Sr. RHP Paxton Miller leads the Marauders with a 3.21 ERA this season. He has 13 strikeouts in 14 innings
• Alec Danen owns a 2-1 record in his first season at UMary. The RHP from Sheboygan, WI, transferred to the Marauders from Viterbo University has a 3.38 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP in a team-best 16 innings.
• Mark Schommer has struck out six hitters in 3.0 innings of relief. He has yet to allow a run and owns the Marauders lone save.

 
CLEAN
The Marauders have committed just 12 errors in 13 games for a .974 fielding percentage, 3^rd best mark in the NSIC and 32^nd in the country.
 
HOME
The Marauders first home stand is slated for March 28-30 against Winona State University 
 
ON DECK
Following the CSP series the Marauders are next scheduled at Wayne State College March 22-24.
 
UMARY HOSTING 2024 NSIC BASEBALL TOURNAMENT
The 2024 NSIC Baseball Tournament features the top eight teams in the final NSIC standings. The eight-team double elimination NSIC Tournament takes place May 8-11, hosted by the University of Mary for  second straight season at Veterans Memorial/Municipal Ballparks in Mandan and Bismarck, ND.

2020 NSIC PLAYER TO WATCH
Noah Hull earned All-NSIC second team honors in 2023 at designated hitter. The senior from Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, blasted 13 home runs to just miss the school record of 14. Hull helped the Marauders hit 72 home runs as a team to obliterate the former school record of 51, set in 2022. Also a left fielder, Hull hit .316 with a .432 on base percentage and a .652 slugging percentage in his second season at UMary. He added 11 doubles and a triple, scored 35 runs and drove in 38.
 
2024 NSIC PITCHER TO WATCH
A right-hander relief pitcher from New Ulm, MN, Mark Schommer led the Marauders in saves with four in 2023. He also tied for the team lead in appearances (15), ERA (1.10) and WHIP (1.16). In 16.1 innings he struck out 15 and allowed just 12 hits and seven walks. A 2-time Northern Sun All-Academic Team member, Schommer earned CSC Academic All-District honors in 2023.
 
2024 NSIC PRESEASON POLL
The Marauders are picked to finish 9th in the NSIC Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll. Augustana is the preseason favorite, followed by Minnesota State, St. Cloud State, Minnesota Crookston, Southwest Minnesota State, Wayne State, Minot State, Winona State, UMary, Sioux Falls, Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota Duluth, Northern State and Bemidji State.
