LARCHWOOD, IA – The University of Mary women's golf team hit the course for the final time in the fall season at the USF Invitational and placed 8
th at the event. The tournament was held at Grand Falls Casino and Golf Resort in Larchwood, IA. Topping the leaderboard for UMary was junior
Carrie Carmichael, who came in 13
th at the tournament.
Carmichael's team-leading score was a 161 (+17) as she sunk three birdies across the two days. Following her on the leaderboard was
Grace Stroh (169, +25) in 39
th,
Abby Thelen (179, +35) in 44
th. Freshmen
Ruby Heydt and
Alyssa Harcharik tied for 54
th with a 186 (+42).
"Not what we planned or expected for our last tournament but it's a great learning moment for us," said fourth-year head coach
Marion Hernandez. "Still super proud of the team for a great fall season and looking forward to our spring season."
While it was largely a tough second round for the Marauders, Carmichael was able to improve her score to move up 10 spots in the standings today.
