HUDSON, WI - Amid the surroundings of the Troy Burne Golf Club, the University of Mary Women's Golf Team exhibited their exceptional talent and unwavering determination at the 2023 CSP-MSU Fall Brawl, hosted by Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State University. The thrilling two-day golfing showdown brought together some of the region's top collegiate golf teams and delivered exciting competition.
 
Carrie Carmichael emerged as one of the University of Mary's shining stars during the event. Her consistent and impressive performance over the two days left spectators in awe. Carmichael posted a pair of 78s, securing her a tied sixth position in the individual player standings. She finished with a 2-day score of 156 (+14), just four shots out of 3^rd and eight behind the tournament champion. The sophomore's remarkable composure under pressure and precision in her shots underscored her status as a rising star in collegiate women's golf.
 
This was the second straight top 10 finish for the Williston, ND, native.
 
The Marauders collective effort was nothing short of impressive. Their cumulative score of 671, composed of scores from Carmichael, Emily St. Aubin, Abby Thelen, Grace Stroh and Asha Valliere, placed them in a commendable sixth position in the team standings out of 10 teams. This result reflects their commitment to excellence and their determination to succeed as a team.
 
"I'm proud of the team for making a rally on our second day to move up," said Marauders Head Coach Marion Hernandez). "Carrie again continued her strong play to lead us."
 
St. Aubin checked in with a 167 (86-81) after a strong day two in her first tournament of the season. Stroh checked in 3^rd for the Marauders (83-90-173). Thelen shaved off five strokes from day one to day two (90-85-175).
 
The Marauders next eagerly await the Watkins Invitational Watkins Invitational set for Monday and Tuesday, September 25-26 at the scenic Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, MN.
