BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women's golf team plays their biggest match of the season when the Marauders compete at the Northern Sun Championships. The 3-day meet is slated for Friday through Sunday, April 28-30, in Smithville, MO.
Thirteen Northern Sun schools will compete at the 54-hole conference championship on 5,930 yard par 72 Paradise Pointe Golf Complex course.
The Marauders have placed 10
th in the 13-team tournament the last two seasons.
Anna Graveline is back to compete for the Marauders for a third straight season.
Emily St. Aubin led UMary last season with a 10
th place finish. The three other competitors for UMary – all freshmen – are
Carrie Carmichael,
Grace Stroh and
Abby Thelen.
Carmichael topped the Marauders leaderboard in two out of the three tournaments played this spring by UMary, including a 5
th place finish in the Augustana Spring Invitational. She shot an average score of 82.4 per round and owns three of the lowest six rounds by a Marauder this season. St. Aubin was right behind at 84.8 and had two of the top six rounds.
The NSIC champion earns an automatic berth in the NCAA Central Region tournament.
