Marauders jump three spots to 5th in NSIC All-Sports Standings after winter season

BURNSVILLE, MN – The University of Mary stands fifth in the Northern Sun All-Sports standings at the conclusion of the conference's winter sports season, a jump of three spots from the fall standings in the 16-team league.
 
With 11 out of 18 NSIC championships completed the Marauders have shown balance across both men's and women's sports. UMary is 6th overall in the women's rankings and 8th in the men's rankings.
 
During the 2022-23 winter sports season the Marauders placed 3rd in the NSIC in wrestling, 5th in both men's and women's indoor track & field, 6th in swimming and women's basketball and 12th in men's basketball.
 
UMary finished the 2022 fall season 4th at the men's cross country championships and 11th in football. On the women's side the Marauders placed 5th in cross country, soccer tied for 6th and volleyball tied for 11th.
 
The Marauders finished an all-time program best 4th in the final 2021-22 NSIC All-Conference standings.
 
The winner of each title in a conference-sponsored championship receives points totaling the number of teams in that sport plus one. The next place finisher receives points totaling the number of teams less the number of places from first place. Ties in the standings at any level shall result in the totaling of points and equal distribution.
 
The NSIC All-Sports Champion is announced following the spring season, with the award being presented at the NSIC Summer Kickoff in July 2023.
