Marauders upended by #1 Wildcats

WAYNE, NE – Visiting the nation's top-ranked team and the Northern Sun standings leader, the University of Mary volleyball team dropped all three sets to #1 Wayne State College. The Wildcats are the fifth team the Marauders have faced this season currently ranked in the nation.
 
Nehkyah Ellis led the Marauders (7-17 overall, 2-12 NSIC) with six kills and 10 digs in the 3-0 loss (25-4, 25-9, 25-15) to the Wildcats (23-1, 14-0).
 
UMary took its first lead of the night in the third set but was unable to extend the match.
 
Ally Gruber added five kills. Kaia Sueker had nine digs.
 
Taya Beller led Wayne State with 14 kills. Kelsey Cada had 10.
 
The Marauders continue their four-game road trip with a visit to St. Cloud State (Nov. 3) and Minnesota State (Nov. 4).
