Davis wraps up stellar season on opening day of 2022 NCAA outdoor championships

ALLENDALE, MI – Astley Davis wrapped up a big season for the University of Mary on the opening day of the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field championships. The sophomore from Kingston, Jamaica, posted an 18th place finish in the long jump.

The 2022 Northern Sun men's outdoor long jump champion posted a top effort of the day of 6.92 meters. Competing in the first flight, Davis posted his best effort of the day on his second attempt. His mark was not strong enough for him to advance to the final round.

Making his first collegiate championship appearance, Davis became the first UMary student-athlete to compete in an NCAA men's track & field championship event since 2019.
