CANCELLED | UMary golf hosts first home event this season in a dual against MSU

CANCELLED | Due to high winds and inclement weather Thursday's UMary golf dual with Minot State is cancelled. 

BISMARCK, ND - The University of Mary men's and women's golf teams host their first home golf event as they take on Minot State University in a dual on Thursday, April 7, with tee time set for 10:30 am. The match takes place at the Riverwood Golf Course.

The event will follow the Ryder Cup format. Golfers from both teams compete against each other in a one versus one dual, with a team picking up a point per win. The team with the highest total of points at the end wins the competition.

Women's Preview
Last Time Out
The UMary women's golf team earned a seventh-place finish at the 2022 Hardrocker Spring Invitational. Emily St. Aubin highlighted the event as she finished in a tie for fifth place after shooting a score of 168 over 36 holes.

NSIC Golfer to Watch
For the women's team, newcomer Emily St. Aubin was named Marauders Northern Sun Golfer to Watch for the 2021-22 season. The freshman from Ashley, ND, finished her high school career with five state championships. St. Aubin placed second at the Girls North Dakota State Class B Golf Championships.

Returners
Returning to the Marauders is last year's player to watch, sophomore Kaleigh Carmichael, who placed 31st in the NSIC Championships. Also returning are sophomores Anna Graveline, Alli Hulst and senior Cassandra Johnson.

Newcomers
Freshmen Asha Valliere, Savanah Brintnell and Madison Bohn will look to make an impact in their first season at UMary.

Men's Preview
Last Time Out
The UMary men's team recorded a fifth-place finish in the 2022 Hardrocker Spring Invitational. Gavin Argent continues his great freshman campaign as he placed in a tie for 13th after shooting a combined score of 160.

NSIC Golfer to Watch
On the men's side, another newcomer in Gavin Argent was named the Marauders 2021-22 Northern Sun Golfer to Watch. A freshman from Minot, ND, Argent is the 2021 North Dakota State Boys Class A Individual champion and led the Minot High School Magicians to fourth place at the Class A State Meet. He also won the 2021 WDA Boys Golf Tournament.

Returners
Cody Brunner was the men's golfer to watch last season as he won the first-ever UMary Triangular. Alex Wilson joins Brunner in returning to the Marauders program.

Newcomers
Freshmen Gavin Argent, Logan Barrett, Isaac Flicker, Jackson Gilchrist and Benett Persoon look to bolster a young UMary lineup.
