ABERDEEN, SD – Overcoming the challenge of high winds impacting the Dewey Donat Classic,
Drew Olson claimed a pair of top finishes in the sprints for the University of Mary.
Olson led a strong day for UMary in the 100 meter dash. The sophomore claimed second place with a time of 10.80 seconds.
Isaac Huntington earned fifth place with a time of 11.08 seconds. In seventh was
Akil Howell, who crossed the finish line in 11.15 seconds.
Olson followed up with a clocking of 22.59 in the 200 meter dash, earning him fourth place.
Dillan Kovash earned third place in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.43 meters. Right behind was
Isaac Watson, who posted a top effort of 4.28 meters to finish fourth.
Hayden Von Wald claimed third in the long jump, connecting on an effort of 6.84 meters.
Peyton Zahler posted a mark of 6.36 meters.
Jesse Hatler and
Aaron Davis went 3-4 in the triple jump. Hatler had a top effort of 12.77 meters and Davis checked in at 12.64 meters.
Malakhi Stevenson accumulated 5,143 points in the decathlon to place fifth in the 14-man field.
In the shot,
Trey Haugen connected on a toss of 12.48 meters to place eighth.
