SPEARFISH, SD - Drew Olson had a spectacular day to open the 2022 outdoor season for the University of Mary men's track & field team. Olson captured one event and placed 2^nd in another at the Yellow Jacket Spring Opener hosted by Black Hills State University.
 
Led by Olson, the Marauders had a big day in the 100 meter dash. Olson led a deep pool of runners with a winning time of 11.15 seconds. Akil Howell grabbed 4^th place in 11.32 seconds while Isaac Huntington claimed 6^th with a clocking of 11.38 seconds.
 
Olson had another tremendous performance in the 200 meter dash. He finished 2^nd with a time of 22.63 seconds.
 
The Marauders had a pair of top-4 performances in the triple jump. Aaron Davis placed 3^rd with an effort of 13.09 meters. Jesse Hatler claimed 4^th with a marking of 12.78 meters.
 
In the long jump, Hayden Von Wald (6.59 meters) and Kyle Cacho (6.37 meters) finished 4-5 in the standings.

• Trey Haugen | 6^th in shot put (14.01 meters)

 
The Marauders next compete at the University of South Dakota Early Bird meet on Saturday, April 2.
