BILLINGS, MT – A big blast by
Kyle Jameson and a strong bullpen effort lifted the University of Mary to a doubleheader split at Montana State University Billings. The Yellowjackets captured the opener 11-9 on a walkoff home run before the Marauders claimed the second contest 6-1.

In a game that featured five lead changes and a pair of ties, the homestanding Yellowjackets rallied for an 11-9 win in the opener on a 3-run walk off blast by Diego Hernandez in the 9
th inning. Both teams hit three home runs in the game, including two by
James Martin and one from
Derek Shoen for the Marauders.
TURNING POINT
After the Marauders claimed a 9-8 lead in the top of the 9
th inning on a 2-run home run by Martin, the Yellowjackets responded quickly in the bottom of the 9
th. Following a pair of walks separated by a flyball out, Hernandez hit a 2-2 pitch over the wall in right center, giving the Yellowjackets a walk-off win. It was Henrandez's first career home run.

A 3-run homer from
Kyle Jameson in the third inning gave the Marauders the early lead and a bullpen game featuring
Jonathan Draheim, Parker Wakeland,
Joseph Sinclair and
Derek Shoen limited the Yellowjackets to a single run in the 7-inning contest. Draheim allowed just two hits and no walks or runs while striking out three in three innings as the starter. Wakelyn followed with two more scoreless innings while facing just seven hitters.
TURNING POINT
Held scoreless the first two innings,
Riley Schlimm got the Marauders started in the third inning with a leadoff single. Following a walk to
Braxton Inniss, Jameson hit a 3-run blast to left field for a lead UMary never relinquished.
Calvin James later singled home
Michael Polson to cap a 4-run inning.
