MOORHEAD, MN – For the first time in program history, four University of Mary wrestlers qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division II National Championships after competing in the NCAA Super Regional V.
Reece Barnhardt,
Braydon Huber,
Leo Mushinsky and
Matthew Kaylor all punched their ticket to St. Louis, MO, to compete in Nationals.
This is the first time in the careers of Barnhardt, Kaylor and Mushinsky that they have qualified for the NCAA Championships. This marks the third time in Huber's career that he will compete in Nationals.

Reece Barnhardt (133) would win his opening match over Minnesota State University's Moorhead via a 9-0 major decision. Barnhardt then followed that performance with an impressive showcase against St. Cloud State University's Garrett Vos, winning by an 8-4 decision in the semifinals. In the Championship match, Barnhardt would fall to Augustana University's Jack Huffman.

Braydon Huber (157) lost his opening match to Augustana's Austin Wagener via a 2-1 sudden victory win. Huber bounced back in his next match, winning a 3-1 decision against Minot State University's Nathan Baca. Huber kept the momentum going, defeating MSUM's Peyton Ringling by an 11-0 major decision. He then earned his way into a third-place match when he took down Wisconsin Parkside's Ben Durocher by a 3-1 decision. Clinching his spot at the NCAA Championships, Huber defeated MSU's Cooper Siebrecht by a 3-2 tiebreaker.
Leo Mushinsky (165) fell in his opening match to Northern State University's Kelby Hawkins by a 3-1 decision. Mushinsky then was victorious over Cannon Potts, winning a 6-4 decision. He took SCSU's Jared Head via an injury at the 6:13 mark. The sophomore secured his spot in the NCAA championships as he took down MSUM's Braydon Ortloff by a 4-3 decision in the third-place match.
Matthew Kaylor (197) won his first match of the night over UWP's Rodsean Graham via a 4-2 sudden victory. Kaylor fell in his next contest to SCSU's Noah Ryan by a 4-1 decision. Kaylor showed grit in his next match as he defeated Southwest Minnesota State University's Dillon McEachran via an 8-2 decision. Kaylor became the fourth wrestler for UMary to qualify for nationals after he defeated Augustana's Daniel Bishop via a 4-2 sudden victory.
Gerardo Jaime (285) would lose his opening match by a 6-4 sudden victory to Augustana's Steven Hajas. Jaime bounced back against MSUM's Samuel Grove, winning via an 18-0 tech fall at the 6:26 mark. He then defeated SMSU's Jacob Dykes via a 3-2 tiebreaker. Jaime would lose his third-place match in heartbreaking fashion, falling in a rematch to Hajas by a 6-3 decision.
Max Bruss (174) finished fifth after he defeated NSU's Tanner Wiese by a 5-3 decision in the fifth-place match.
Laken Boese (141) took sixth place as he was defeated by a 4-1 decision to Minnesota State University's Brock Luthens.

Wyatt Lidberg (184) did not place in the Super Regional.
